“Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,” Emma Lazurus must have been thinking of a Great Fairy when she wrote The New Colossus. Through every Legend of Zelda game, the Great Fairy, leader of all the fairies, helps Link in his numerous quests. Her role rarely changes, always giving Link a pivotal item, enhancement or helpful healing. Great Fairy is often hidden and finding her usually comes with a sigh of relief, especially when low on hearts. Though, Link blasting through her front door with a bomb seems hardly the right way to pay her back for all her kindness.
Emitting an ethereal aura, Cosplayer Rachel Nycole embodies both the nurturing and seductive sides of the Great Fairy. Her pink flowing locks and ivy ensemble resemble the Great Fairy from Ocarina of Time, a fitting tribute to an exceptional being.
