There is so much lore in World of Warcraft and Hearthstone, so much that it can be really intimidating for someone new to get into these immense gaming worlds and fandoms. Still, one doesn’t need to know the first thing about either game to appreciate the incredible design and beauty of some of the characters.
One such character is Alexstrasza, the Life-Binder. She is the guardian of all life in the world of Azeroth. Before the Titans who created Azeroth departed to shape life from chaos on other worlds, they rewarded five proto-drakes by altering them into dragons that would become the stewards of that world. Their purpose would be to guard Azeroth as the Dragon Aspects. Alexstrasza was the Aspect of red dragonflight, and the queen of all dragons.
Like all mothers, Alexstrasza cares deeply for her children- the people and races of Azeroth. She was no longer content to simply watch over the mortal races, so she took action to bring the dragonflights together. They battled the then-hostile blue dragonflight and its Aspect, Malygos, as well as the looming threat of the Lich King. Today, Alexstrasza resides atop the Wyrmrest Temple, a place that is considered to be holy ground for dragonflights.
Beautiful Russian cosplayer Narga Lifestream did a masterful job with creating Alexstrasza’s humanoid form. The armor looks so incredibly good that it actually looks like 3D art. I mean this in the best possible way. In her description on Deviantart, Narga explains that she mostly used “camping mats and linoleum” to create this cosplay. Linoleum! That’s amazing. Narga’s love for this character clearly comes through in her attention to every detail. She looks absolutely amazing – stunning, strong, and benevolent, like the Dragonqueen she’s portraying.
