Benedict Cumberbatch Doing “Doctor Strange” Homework

It’s a huge thing to be cast in a Marvel movie that will rake in millions at the box office. Most actors research their roles by reading the comics or books that are attached to them.

Benedict Cumberbatch is determined not to let Marvel fans down in the role of Doctor Strange. He commented, “You can bet your bottom dollar I’m reading [the comics] now, avidly.”

J. August Richards, who starred as Deathlok in season one of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., also did his homework. Thankfully, he was already a fan of Marvel going in to his role.

Cumberbatch isn’t scared to take the shoes and play Doctor Strange. The movie will hit theaters in the fall of 2016, so there are a few projects under his belt until then. “I’m really excited about it, about working with Scott [Derrickson] whose imagination is endless, and all the boys and girls at Marvel who know what they’re doing. I’ve got a few things to get under my belt first. I’ve got to do that little stage production of “Hamlet” in the summer and the Christmas special of “Sherlock,” which we start shooting in about three days’ time – Whoops! Yeah, that’s there.”

There will be more Marvel news, stay tuned!
