Nintendo is now running a previously Japan only promotion in North America and Europe. In Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire you can now download a mystery gift, which is a level 50 Serperior. Its move set consists of Leaf Storm, Hold Back, Wring Out and Giga Drain. The most interesting piece of information, however, is that it also comes with the Contrary ability. This ability makes stat changes have the opposite effect. For instance if an opponent attacks you with say, Leer, it will actually raise your defense. The catch being that the same is true for positive stat buffs. This means a move like howl (Yes I am aware that Serperior can’t learn Howl) will actually decrease your attack.
To download your Serperior all you have to do is select “Mystery Gift” from the menu, choose “Receive Gift” and then “via Code” and enter the code POKEMON497. Keep an eye out for more event exclusive Pokémon such as Reckless Emboar and Shell Armor Samurott who will be making appearances later this year.
