Over the past 10 years, Spongebob has continued to make fans fall in love with the show through his quirky antics and strange happenings of undersea life. With his starfish best friend Patrick at his side, Nickelodeon’s Spongebob has provided us with numerous laughs from a young age to adulthood. And while we have been watching his show, bring us endless entertainment, he was doing the same thing, mesmerized by his favorite show: Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy.
Mermaid Man was the Aquaman of the Spongebob universe. Teaming up with Barnacle Boy, together they defeated numerous villainous sea creatures to defend their fish friends and deliver justice. They did this for many years, anxiously anticipating a fierce battle around every corner. Yet, you can’t stay young forever, and Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy surely grew old and were placed in a retirement home, losing a large amount of their superpowers, strength, and cunning, confined to their comfy chairs and meals composed of pudding.
This amazing depiction of Mermaid Man by Lacy Von Vorhees rejuvenates the old superhero and turns him into a spunky, more beautiful version that is surely ready to protect the ocean once again. Flaunting Mermaid Man’s signature orange and green styling and mermaid man belt, Lacy’s costume is incredibly spot-on. The final detail that really makes this Mermaid Man cosplay even more accurate are the pink slippers that she is wearing, just as the lazier, elderly Mermaid Man did.
