Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax Heads to North America on PlayStation 3, PS VITA

Anime and fighting games are my jam, and anime crossover fighting games are a very rare treat that I enjoy as often as I can. Earlier this week, Sega announced via the PlayStation Blog that they’ll be bringing over their Dengeki Bunko Publishing-centered crossover fighting game Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax, developed by Melty Blood developer Ecole Software and French Bread, a release date has yet to be set, but is set somewhere in Summer 2015 for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

Announced to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Dengeki Bunko Publishing, Fighting Climax combines characters such as Kirito, Asuna, and Leefa from Sword Art Online, Shana and Wilhelmina from Shakugan no Shana, Kirino Kousaka and Kuroneko from OreImo, Mikoto Misaka and Kamijou Touma from A Certain Magical Index, Toradora, Golden Time, Durarara!!, Accel World, Kino’s Journey, the list is very, very long, and even contains Sega characters such as Virtua Fighter’s Akira and Pai Chan, and Valkyria Chronicle’s Selvaria Bles and Alicia Melchiott. 14 playable characters and 23 support characters line out the roster and deliver a fast paced and high octane 2D fighting game experience from the same studio behind the Type-Moon-inspired fighting game series Melty Blood. Check out the announcement trailer below, featuring the theme song Belief by Mami Kawada!
