Disney’s a BIG studio and especially visible in the world of geekdom. So you could imagine the disappointment felt when Disney announced that a third film in the generation spanning Tron franchise would not be getting made, especially after encouraging reports that Tron Legacy’s cast and crew were still throwing around interesting ideas for the threequel.
But in the internet age, and in the free-information-spirit of the films, fans find ways to make their desires known. A petition on Change.org has arisen asking Disney continue production of the film. “Sign this petition so that we may show Disney that The Grid is too great to never be shown again and to prove that Flynn lives.” The petition also posits that Tron Legacy was undoubtedly an international hit and that the films’ universe is ripe for further exploration. I must agree.
As of the time of writing, the petition to revive Tron 3 has approximately 25,500 signatures. Would you like to see more adventures in the Grid? Would you like to see Olivia Wilde explore Quorra’s existence in the real world? If so, sign!
