Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn has gone live on Early Access for PS4, just before its release on April 14th. There’s also good news for existing PlayStation 3 owners as you will be able to upgrade your game to the PS4. This means that if you own a copy of the PS3 version but want to play on your brand spanking new PS4, you won’t have to buy a new copy of the game. All of your items and in-game characters will be transferred over to the new console, so you won’t have to worry about losing everything you’ve worked hard for. But, it’s not all happy rainbows for the PS3 owners…
When the MMO is released on the PS4, PS3 owners won’t be able to access the PS3 version anymore.
To upgrade to the PS4 version for free, players will need to register their PS3 copy of the game to the Final Fantasy Service Account and then you’ll be able to upgrade your account through the Mog Station. If you’re planning on doing this, you have until the 31st of December this year to do so.
