Square Enix has today announced that Final Fantasy IV: The After Years will be coming to PC via Steam on May 12. Notable changes coming to this version are the inclusion of a somewhat improved update to the graphics, a brand new intro to the game that has been designed by Square Enix Visual Works; the video you can see below. Steam achievements will also be added to the game.
For those unfamiliar with the sequel, The After Years takes place seventeen years after the events from the original Final Fantasy IV. King Cecil and Queen Rosa – the protagonists from the original – have had a son Prince Ceodore, and with another moon appearing in the sky vast hordes of monsters hell bent on destruction are plaguing the land once more. It’s up to Ceodore as well as faces old and new to help save the Blue Planet once more.
Look for this one when it comes to Steam next month, it’s one of the better sequels to grace the Final Fantasy series.
