Former Rare Developers Working on Banjo Kazooie Successor

Core members that were former workers of Rare have today announced that they are working within a new studio, Platonic Games, and are working on a new game. They also have plans to reveal big details this week on the upcoming game which at current is under the title, “Project Ukulele.” The aim for Playtonic is to make this new game into what they are saying a “worthy spiritual successor” to past games that the team has worked on, such as Donkey Kong, Banjo Kazooie, and Viva Piñata. With both programmers and character designers hailing from Donkey Kong Country and Banjo Kazooie, it’s no wonder why they want this new game to feel like the old platform adventure games.

No more details have been shared as of yet though the studio has said more updates will be coming via its Twitter page. Hopefully we’ll see the vibrant worlds we came to love be modernized and look great in this new “Project Ukulele” though time will tell when we find out more this week.
