Nathalie Emmanuel, most famous for her recent portrayal of Missandei on HBO’s Game of Thrones, has joined the cast of The Scorch Trials. Scorch Trials is the second novel in James Dashner’s YA Maze Runner Series to be adapted to the big screen by Fox.
The Hollywood Reporter says that Emmanuel will play the role of Harriet, the leader of a group of girls who escaped from another maze that will meet up with Thomas’s group in the sequel. Emmanuel joins a cast that includes Game of Thrones co-star Aiden Gillian (even though they’ve never shared a scene on the show), Rosa Salazar, Giancarlo Esposito, Dylan O’Brien and Will Poulter.
Emmanuel has made a humble, but memorable impression on Game of Thrones as the liberated linguist in Daenery’s entourage. I certainly welcome the chance to see her in more diverse and prominent roles.
