Gears of War for the Xbox 360 was for a long time as important as Halo when it came to Xbox games, so while Master Chief got his own HD remaster collection, fans of Marcus Fenix and company were a little disappointed when Black Tusk studio head Rod Fergusson announced that there would be no Marcus Fenix Collection for Xbox One. But while there won’t be a collection, that doesn’t mean the studio isn’t working on something – and according to sources over at Polygon, they might be working on something special for Gears of War fans. After Microsoft bought the rights to Gears of War from developer Epic Games, the publisher put Fergusson and his team in charge of continued developed of the franchise, and following the denial of a Marcus Fenix Collection, Fergusson did announce that they are indeed working on something for Gears.
Polygon reports that they were sourced exclusive stills from a remastered opening cinematic, depicting the Locust invasion in unprecedented visual fidelity. The sources are still unknown, and Polygon has yet to publish the stills for public view, but with everything said and done the likelihood of a Gears of War Remaster seems assured.
