Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 is being described as a return to form for the series, and Activision released a new exciting video talking more about the game today. The video, courtesy of Sony’s PlayStation YouTube channel that you can see below, goes a bit more into the development of the game, including showing off some of the new features such as building you own skate park and sharing them online to be played and rated by other players, a new drop mechanic that lets you grind on rails easier, as well as a look at some of the early stages that are playable, which according to Tony Hawk “makes the game feel more immersive and realistic to players”.
The video also plays on the nostalgia a bit, as some of the skateboarders that will appear in the game (including Tony Hawk’s now teenage son) talk about their early experiences with the game, and what it means for them to work on this new entry. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 releases on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on September 29 of this year.
