Now that practically every major film from the 70′s and 80′s has been revisited, it seems only a matter of time before a modern version of “Gremlins” hits theaters. For years, Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment has rejected offers to remake the story of Billy Peltzer and his Mogwai problem. But if Internet rumors are to be believed, we may get a new “Gremlins” film after all.
Vulture is reporting that Amblin has received yet another offer of doing a “Gremlins”-type movie, and this time they may actually be on board. The details of how the film would play out are still sketchy. Will it be filmed in 3D? Will it be a remake, or a complete reboot? Will original “Gremlins” cast members Zach Galligan and Phoebe Cates emerge from under their respective rocks to make a rare film appearance? As of now, there are more questions than answers.
