Japanese Voice Actress Bridges League of Legends and Dragonball

Fans of the Japanese anime worldwide juggernaut Dragonball may know that the series’ star character, Son Goku, is originally voiced by Japanese voice actress Masako Nozawa, and they may even know that Son Goku is based on the ancient Chinese story of Son Wukong, the Monkey King. But as Riot Games gears up to bring their massively successful MOBA to Japan, these facts come together in a neat way for those who like Easter eggs.

This week Riot Games revealed that Nozawa will also be voicing the Japanese localization for their version of Wukong, with a voice that is strikingly similar to the Turtle schooled Saiyan. This is no doubt a conscious decision by the developer, and a welcome one in that, very fitting with the kind of cheeky humor we’d expect from Riot. Check out the voice samples here, as well as a number of other voices for the other roster members.
