Jason Momoa Talks About ‘Red Road’ and Aquaman

Jason Momoa has been in the spotlight for the last while and his career is just getting busier. The Sundance TV drama Red Road will be debuting on Thursday with a second season. Kopus, Momoa’s character will also be returning. Kopus is described as a member of the Native American Lanape Tribe and is living in the mountains of New Jersey. To those who have yet to begin watching the show, spoiler alert. Kopus and Officer Harold Jensen ended up saving one another in the season finale. How their struggle happens in the upcoming season is going to be not only interesting but shocking. We can feel it!

When asked about filming a third season of Red Road, regardless of filming commitments, Momoa said “hell yeah.” Assuming of course of the series is in fact picked up for one more season. He went on to say, “I’ve never been on a roller coaster quite like I was this year. There are a lot of deaths.”

When Momoa isn’t working on Red Road, he is slowly prepping for another film that DC fans are showing mixed emotions on. Justice League will be showing a version of Aquaman many of us weren’t expecting, either.

As for Justice League? “Justice League is quite a ways off. We don’t have scripts and stuff like that,” Momoa says. “I’ll bring my professionalism there. I’ll bring my sense of humor. Hopefully people will like that. If they don’t I’ll modify it.”

Momoa has the best of both worlds. He has to deal with a serious role, and then he gets to turn around and be witty for another.

When Zach Snyder dropped the first look of Aquaman, the internet began to buzz non-stop. Michael Wilkinson is the head costume designer who created the look and Momoa give Zack credit though on what he was looking for. But he is also looking forward to something his kids can see him in.

“I have a TV show that I love,” Momoa says. “I’m going to be in one of the biggest movies in history in a minute, playing a superhero. And I have kids so that’s cool. My kids can finally see something that I’m in.”

In case you’re waiting for Red Road to return, it airs on Thursday nights, at 10p.m. on Sundance TV.
