At the end of season 1, the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. were no longer a part of something, after HYDRA had dismantled the core of the team when Agent Grant Ward betrayed them. Ward gained secret information, betraying the trust of the team and breaking Skye’s heart, so whether we trust him this season remains to be seen.
Adding to the cast, we now know that Kyle MacLachlan will be appearing in episode 2.02 as Skye’s father. We don’t know the extent of the role or how he ties in with the Agents or HYDRA. Whether or not MacLachlan will be a recurring character is unknown.
It has also been said that Adrian Pasdar’s Glenn Talbot will also be returning in the new season. It will be interesting to see the orders he has now that everything has diminished.
