The 30th anniversary of the first Back to the Future film is this year, as well as the October 21st 2015 date of Marty McFly’s arrival in the “future”. But despite the fanfare the series has enjoyed around those occasions, the trilogy director Robert Zemeckis says that there are no further stories with the world or the characters that he is itching to tell.

When IGN recently has Zemeckis if he had any ideas for sequels, he said, “We’ve done a trilogy, the movies turned out really well and those are the only Back to the Future stories we have left in us”.

That’ll certainly be a disappointment to fans. Although, you could look at it as though we’ll be spared the disappointment of lack-luster cash-grab sequels. Zemeckis is still making films, though. You can catch his latest biopic thriller The Walk with Joseph Gordon-Levitt in theaters now.
