SoulCalibur’s official Facebook page is teasing something new with a recent character survey that asks players to vote in for their favorites. According to the post, the Project Soul team “need to determine precisely who are the favorite characters of the community,” and hints that the team is probably preparing something huge.
It has been roughly three years since the last main line SoulCalibur game, the fighting game series that introduced new mechanics such as weapon types, specialized blocking and parrying, and destructable clothing. The character poll lists fan favorites such as Sophita, Voldo, Siegfried, Taki, and more. Players can only vote a single time, so are encouraged to make their vote count. Voting ends May 31st, after which maybe we can expect an announcement for another numbered entry in the fighting game franchise. The last entry in the SoulCalibur franchise, SoulCalibur V, was released back in 2012 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
