I hate spoilers. As an aspiring fiction writer, I have a deep appreciation for experiencing stories in the manner that the storytellers design them to be experienced. I want the full brunt emotional impact of a character death or a stunning twist in the moment that development is presented, not finding out about completely out of context and having it color my expectation of the movie.
That said, news is news, and there is still the possibility that it may not prove true. If the media didn’t report potential/rumored spoilers for Star Wars Episode 7, there’d be little to no news about the movie at all.
YOU DON’T KNOW THE POWER OF THE DARK SPOILERS!
This report comes to us from MakingStarWars.net. The author of the article, Jason Ward, discusses at length his hesitance to report this particular rumor, but according to him, the following information comes from an observed scene of shooting at Pinewood Studios. His confidence in this actually being in the movie is as high as it gets with these things.
The following is the rundown of what was observed at Pinewood.
- This sequence takes place on the ramparts of The Evil Castle.
- Han Solo is hiding.
- He decides to reveal himself to Kylo Renn.
- Finn, Rey, Chewbacca and BB-8 stop in their tracks.
- They watch as Han Solo confronts Kylo Ren. Kylo Renn silences the conversation forever.
- Chewbacca lets out of a barrage of angry roars and laser blasts.
- Kylo Ren flees the scene.
- Explosions.
- Stormtroopers file in and Finn and Rey are forced to flee.
- More explosions.
- BB-8 and Chewbacca flee to the Falcon.
Han Solo is never in a scene after this. Those are the facts.
Oi vey. It does sounds very much like Obiwan’s sacrifice in Episode 4 in terms of staging.
Check out all of what Jason Ward has to say here. Does it sound legit to you? What do you think about Han Solo being apparently killed off? Let us know in the comments.
