Cosplay Tip Tuesday: Undergarments for Cosplay

1 min read
Hello everyone, today I wanted to talk to you about undergarments. You want your cosplays to be seamless and look fantastic. The last thing you want to have is seams popping through your super tight costume! I come from a modeling and television background, and we always tell our models and talents to carry with them a variety of undergarments. This way they are prepared to wear any item of clothing. This would include, nude and black bras, strapless bras, nude and black under wear – both thongs and full bottoms. When you attend an event you do not need to carry all this with you because you will know what you need in advance. Just make sure you try on your costume before the event, so that you can purchase items if needed – remember to plan a head! If worse comes to worse and you have a costume that is extremely revealing, design your cosplay with a built in bra or a support system where needed, so you do not have to worry about buying undergarments and seams showing through.

Cosplay Tip Tuesday: Planning Ahead

2 min read
Hey guys! On today’s Tip Tuesday I wanted to talk a little bit about planning ahead. Some people that Cosplay full time can punch out cosplays way faster then most people – that is their full time job! But for most people Cosplay is a hobby, and when you have school or work full time it may be hard to get costumes out last minute. What I like to do is plan my cosplays at least 3-6 months before I plan to wear them at a convention.

Cosplay Tip Tuesday: Taking Your Cosplay To The Next Level

1 min read
Some people cosplay for fun. They do it to get out with their friends and enjoy the excitement of the conventions. Others take cosplay a little more seriously either making it a career, or they just want to have a cosplay presence online and at conventions. I actually have a few tips for you today if you are one of those people wanting to take your cosplay to the next level.

Cosplay Tip Tuesday: Cosplay Essentials – What’s in my Bag?!

1 min read
The ever so popular “What’s in my Bag” video on YouTube is probably one of my favourites to watch! I don’t know what it is about creeping other people’s bags, but there is something very satisfying about it! On that note, I decided to show you guys this week what is in my cosplay bag. When I go to photo-shoots and conventions I always carry this super sexy leopard pouch with my cosplay essentials in it. Space is limited when you are at conventions, so you may not be able to carry everything you want with you. It is important to really narrow down those items and make that bag as light as possible!

Cosplay Tip Tuesday: Color Correcting Your Skin

1 min read
Hey guys! For this weeks Tip Tuesday I have a super fast video for you! This tip is easy and fast, but extremely helpful. Color Correcting your skin can be tricky. I could go into detail about this for hours, but today I have just one quick tip. I was recently on set shooting my Edward Scissorhands cosplay and I wanted to make my skin really pale to match Edwards. Everyone's skin is different so make sure you do some research on what undertone your skin has before you try and color correct it. What I used was a green powered foundation because I have red undertones. I put this all over my arms, face and chest. Depending on your skin tone you may have undertones of yellow, purple or red. My skin has a red undertone so by adding green to the red will cancel out the red and become neutral. I then added a white powered foundation onto of the green to take away any excess green color. This tip can be used to cancel out red undertones on your body, but also to hid any blemishes you may have as well. If you have a pimple simply add a touch of green to it before you put on your regular foundation. Like I said there are so many different skin tones and colors, so different colors will work for your skin. I have added below some Color Correcting Guides for you to take a look at if you want to read into this deeper.

Cosplay Tip Tuesday: Mascara – Your Secret Weapon

1 min read
Today's tip Tuesday is all about a secret weapon you didn't know you even had…Mascara! That's right, mascara is a secret weapon, and you can use it for a number of reasons. When you are at a convention, photo-shoot, or anywhere! You probably don't have a canof hair spray on you or you are trying to carry as little products as possbile. Especially at conventions it is hard to carry hair spray around all day when you already have your concealer, camera, lip chap, phone, money, safety pins, and all your other convention essentials. So my tip today is simply that you can use mascara not only for creating dramatic lashes, but to tame those crazy fly-aways! I used to be a competitive figure skater and we would use clear mascara to hold down our fly-aways…sometimes hairspray just doesn't cut it. So remember not only does mascara come in a variety of colours, but it can act as a dual purpose when you are trying to down size the items you carry in your purse.
