Video Game History: The Resident Evil Series Part 1

1 Comment·5 min read
Resident Evil. What hasn't been said about of Capcom's survival horror franchise? Much like Doom, while Resident Evil isn't the first survival horror game (that honor goes to Alone in the Dark), it was the game that made the genre popular, and since it's release on March 22nd, 1996 in Japan (March 30th in the US, and August 1st in Europe), the series has spawned numerous sequels, spinoffs, ports, remakes, comics, manga, rides, restaurants, and even some movies, both CG and live action, with the live action movies not only being their own universe separate from the games, but are actually ending this year with Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.

Life is Strange Debuts Final Episode Trailer

1 min read
Square Enix has released the final trailer for their episodic series Life is Strange, the story of a girl that can rewind time as a conspiracy grips her small Oregon time. The fifth episode is slated to be released later this week, and with it draws the five episode series to a close. The series has been well received, garnering over one million sales since its January release date. Last we left her, Max had just discovered the secret of the Dark Room, as a raging storm threatens just off the coast. In an age of emerging episodic games such as The Walking Dead and A Wolf Among Us, Life is Strange is an excellent drama with a beautiful painted photograph design.

The Last Guardian May Have Been Cancelled Without Fan Demand

1 Comment·1 min read
It looks like The Last Guardian might not have happened if it weren't for fans asking about it. Sony spoke with Edge Magazine and Shuhei Yoshida shed light on why it might have been that The Last Guardian wouldn't have come out. Part of it derives from the fact that there were technical issues on the PlayStation 3. Additionally, there were also complications in regards to the PlayStation 4 development.

Unless you've been living under a rock for the last year, you'll know that easily the biggest thing to come out this year is Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the newest chapter in the much beloved Star Wars series. The final trailer for the movie was recently released, and one YouTuber has taken it upon themselves to recreate that trailer in Destiny.

Minecraft: Story Mode Uses The Original Game’s Engine, Might Lay Groundwork for Minecraft on Wii U

Minecraft: Story Mode is certainly a departure from developer Telltale Games previous outings. For starters, it's an adventure game set in the Minecraft universe, which while famous for a lot of things, having any kind of story isn't one of them. However, as was recently revealed, Minecraft: Story Mode doesn't use Telltale's own (and admittedly outdated) game engine, but rather the original Minecraft's engine.

New Extreme Exorcism Trailer Looks to Be A Scary Good Time

1 min read
A teaser trailer was released on the Playstation YouTube channel for a new 2D platformer called Extreme Exorcism. Developed by Golden Ruby Games, players take control of Mae Barrons, an Extreme Exorcist, who must navigate through a haunted house and exterminate its ghostly inhabitants. The twist is that every time you defeat a ghost, that ghost will return and mimic something that you did previously, such as imitating you using your spread shot or using a special move. The number of ghosts imitating you increases with each stage, and combined with one hit kills, is sure to bring a fair bit of challenge to the game.
