After waiting impatiently for the yearly arrival of San Diego Comic-Con, the time finally came, and we were nothing short of excited. SDCC is the perfect time to let your geek flag fly by watching panels of your favorite TV shows, perusing nerd culture merch from vendors, exploring all of the off-site activities, and of course, dressing up as one of your favorite characters through cosplay.
So, confession time: while I there are games in the Final Fantasy series that I enjoy and have a good time with, Final Fantasy XII was not one of them. Don't get me wrong, it's got an interesting setting, I like most of the cast, and the combat can be pretty fun at times. It just the game never really hooked me like previous games of the series did, and to this day I still don't know why. While the San Diego Comic Con demo didn't change my opinion of the game one way or another, I can tell there are quite a few refinements to the original that I can tell fans will get a kick out of.
The original Pac-Man Championship Edition is easily one of the best digital games of all time. Released in 2007, the game may not have reinvented the wheel when it came to the core gameplay of Pac-Man, but rather it polished it to a pristine shine, the final product being a game that felt familiar, yet new at the same time, with it's techno soundtrack and bright neon colors. The follow up, Pac-Man Championship Edition DX was also the same as the first one, but with newer stages and various skins to unlock and play as. Now we've reached Pac-Man Championship 2, and I got my hands on it during this year's San Diego Comic Con. And you know what? It played just like the other games, and that's alright by me.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is one of my most anticipated games of 2016. While I thought the last game, Deus Ex: Human Revolution wasn't a perfect 10/10 game, it was still an overall solid game that did the original justice, and after playing a demo of Mankind Divided at this year's Comic Con, I can safely say that my excitement for the game hasn't diminished in the slightest. Even though I died and jumbled my way through my time with it.
