100 Issues Of Nintendo Power Are Now On The Internet Archive

1 min read
If you're like me, chances are you were a subscriber to a little known gaming magazine called Nintendo Power. While it doesn't seem like much now in this age of the smartphones and tablets, at the time it was a huge deal, as it was the closest many Nintendo fans such as myself could get first looks, reviews, and the all important walkthroughs of some of out favorite games. Sadly, the era of gaming magazines seems to have passed, as the Internet has made it possible now to find walkthroughs, previews, reviews, etc. at a much faster and frequent rate then we've ever been able to in the past. But in an ironic twist of fate, the very thing that ultimately ended magazines such as Nintendo Power is now helping to revive it and keep it alive, as the Internet Archive has over 100 issues of Nintendo Power on their archive that you can read right now.

This Metroid Samus Aran Cosplay is Extremely Seductive

1 min read
Samus Aran is a video game icon, and since her epic debut in the retro Nintendo series, Metroid, she has appeared in multiple other games, as well. One of the most prominent video games she has appeared in recently is Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U, which made waves in the video game community for its epic roster of characters to play as and action-packed gameplay.

Satoru Iwata’s Nintendo Direct Broadcasts to Continue

1 min read
Nintendo has long since stepped away from the traditional press conferences and events in favor of their much more personal Nintendo Direct webcasts. Until this summer, these events were hosted by the Nintendo President Satoru Iwata, and following his untimely passing, many have been wondering who would take command of these hallowed parts of Nintendo's recent history. At the Tokyo Game Show this week, Nintendo confirmed with gaming website IGN that while the gaming news broadcasts will continue without Iwata's presence, no details can be given as for their topics or who would be hosting them.

Nintendo Is Releasing A Miniature NES With 30 Classic Games This Year

Well, this is a pleasant surprise. Nintendo of America announced earlier today on their Twitter page that the Nintendo Entertainment System (or NES for short) will be getting a re-release this year, albeit a bit smaller than what many fans are used to.

Minecraft: Story Mode Uses The Original Game’s Engine, Might Lay Groundwork for Minecraft on Wii U

1 min read
Minecraft: Story Mode is certainly a departure from developer Telltale Games previous outings. For starters, it's an adventure game set in the Minecraft universe, which while famous for a lot of things, having any kind of story isn't one of them. However, as was recently revealed, Minecraft: Story Mode doesn't use Telltale's own (and admittedly outdated) game engine, but rather the original Minecraft's engine.

Nintendo Veterans Reflect Back on Super Mario Bros.’ 30th Anniversary

1 min read
It's hard to think that just 30 years ago, Nintendo developers Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka sat down to create an iconic platforming video game icon that would still be going strong long enough for a generation of fans to have grown up not knowing that Mario was 30 years old. With the recently released Super Mario Maker inspiring a whole new age of game designers, Nintendo has posted a new interview with the two Nintendo veterans as they look back at the first game in the series, and what it was like to design a gaming icon three decades ago.
