Well, this was inevitable in retrospect. Two years after Disney Ppurchased Star Wars, Walt Disney Co. head Bob Iger told Variety that Disney’s Imagineering team would be hard at work bringing attractions passed on the upcoming sequel trilogy to Disney Theme parks around the world.
Iger said that the attractions would be based primarily on J.J. Abrams’ new movies, not the original six films, and that Disney had been waiting for Abrams to develop and discuss plans with them. Now that Filming for The Force Awakens has reportedly wrapped, Disney will likely have all the source material they need to make so pretty exciting attractions.
I’d like to see how the film itself comes out first. We can expect further details on these new attractions in the New Year.
