If you’re an avid player on any of the Halo games’ multiplayer, you’re probably familiar with the Mongoose, a vehicle introduced in Halo 3 that has also been in Halo 4 and Halo: Reach. Now the vehicle will be making an appearance, back in time with Halo 2, as developer 343 Industries has revealed that they’re bringing it to Halo 2’s multiplayer in The Master Chief Collection. However, this isn’t the exact same Mongoose you remember. Note the mounted turret on top of it. Certainly a welcome addition, and due to it, it has been re-named the Gungoose.
It’ll be used in a new variant mode in Halo 2 called Gungoose: Capture the Flag. It’ll be interesting using it in a past game that it originally wasn’t in, complete with a brand new upgrade. Keep watch for more news in the future from 343 on any other new additions to the Halo games in the collection. The Master Chief Collection will be coming exclusively to Xbox One on November 11th, and includes the original Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4.
