The upcoming Walking Dead prequel series has made significant progress over the last couple of weeks. Several characters have been cast already, and now Robert Kirkman and his team have found the female lead for the series, tentatively named “Cobalt.” Kim Dickens (Sons of Anarchy, Gone Girl, Treme) has been cast to play Nancy Thompson, a guidance counselor who works with Sean Cabrera, a divorced teacher who she is also dating. The role of Sean will be played by Cliff Curtis.
Other actors who have recently signed on to project Cobalt are Frank Dillane as Nancy’s drug addicted son, and Alycia Debnam Carey as her daughter who has dreams of leaving L.A. and heading to Berkeley. When the zombie apocalypse strikes, there is a change of plans.
