I make no secret of the fact that I love The Legend of Zelda series, but I also have a soft spot for the Western genre. Ever since I snuck out of bed one night to catch my dad watching one of his old westerns, it’s been a genre that’s held a special place in my heart. So when I heard that the fine folks at Beat Down Boogie had made a Zelda themed Western, to say that I was ecstatic to see two of my favorite things being merged together was an understatement.
Titled “Hang ‘Em Hyrule”, the 7 minute video, which you can check out below, shows off drastically different versions of series mainstays Link, Zelda and Ganondorf. While I won’t spoil it for you, know that it’s an excellently shot and well made short that fans of Zelda and Westerns will get a kick out of. Even better, the spiffy outfits that the characters wear are available for pre-order from the folks at Volante Design, so if you have the money for it, you can out down a pre-order now. If nothing else, it can tide you over until the next main console game releases sometime next year for the Wii U, as well as the Tri-Force Heroes, which is set to come out on the 3DS this year.
