We reported last night the new Project Ukulele was going to open a Kickstarter campaign. This campaign, believe it or not was fully funded in a matter of minutes. Yooka-Laylee, a side scrolling platform is based of the same concept, Banjo-Kazooie and Donkey Kong; two companions heading to the final destination with a little challenge or three here and there.
The Kickstarter was only set for a $270 thousand dollar goal, not only making the money, but heading into the $722 thousand dollar range within forty minutes. The amount is nearly three times the original goal. Playtonic is a UK based company and comprised of a few former Rare employers.
Yooka and Laylee will have their own abilities as well as team up abilities that can help take down targets. Between the tongue grapple and the sonar blast, these two can take down anything that comes their way.
Yooka-Laylee is set to release in October 2016 on PC, Mac, Linux, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Wii U.
